Culinary & Events Specialist
Job Type: Part-time (Up to 35 hours per week)
Pay: $15 per hour
Availability: Morning focus, with flexibility for unusual hours during special events
Are you a culinary creative ready to add a little magic to our guest experience?
At our historic inn, we believe the guest experience goes far beyond a good night's sleep. From the first bite of breakfast to a surprise plate of truffles, our food is a massive part of the memories our guests take home.
We are looking for a Culinary & Events Specialist to take ownership of our kitchen and support our upcoming food-centric events. If you love cooking, have a knack for the special details, and want a dynamic kitchen environment, this is the role for you!
Where You Make Your Mark
- You will be responsible for making and serving a fantastic breakfast that starts our guests' day off perfectly.
- You'll keep the kitchen running smoothly by ensuring the pantry is fully stocked, organized, and prepped for success every day.
- You will take point on curating our special "romance packages"—preparing decadent fudge, truffles, and other romantic touches for our guests' arrivals.
- As we begin to host daytime events (like Mother’s Day brunches and themed gatherings), you will be the backbone of the kitchen, helping to prep and execute the special food and drink menus.
Your Culinary Superpowers
- While you don't need a fancy culinary degree or a specific background, you must have solid, proven experience in cooking and food prep. You know your way around a kitchen and can handle the heat!
- You don't just want to hide in the back; you enjoy the "service" aspect of making sure guests love what you've prepared.
- Events don't always happen on a standard schedule. You are willing and able to work unusual or flexible hours to help prepare food and drinks for special occasions.
The Perks & Environment
- The possibility of up to 35 hours per week gives you a solid part-time schedule, but the mix of daily breakfast and special events keeps the work interesting.
- You aren't just a line cook; you get to take ownership of unique boutique offerings like our romance packages.
- A very laid-back, fun, and supportive atmosphere where you are treated like a key player in the guest experience.
